Sensitivity
The first reason is when a person has a lot of sensitivity to hot and cold foods. But a person also needs to be aware that if they have recently had some work done on their teeth, then the sensitivity could be a side effect of that work. It all depends on the situation.
Tongue
The second reason is when a person is having a lot of pain or sores on their tongue. This could have been caused because a person bit their tongue, or it may have come into contact with food that was too hot. But it could be a more serious issue of tongue cancer. Therefore, if the tongue is hurting you for more than a few days, then you are going to need to see a professional.
Gums
Another reason is when a person has gums that are bleeding a lot. Most of the time, this is going to be a sign of periodontal disease. Swelling
Yet another reason is when the person notices that they have lumps or unusual swelling in their mouth. This is because it could be a sign of oral cancer, which can be very serious. When the emergency may be cancer-related, it’s especially important to visit our orthodontist sooner rather than later.
Loose Teeth
Another emergency is when a person has teeth that are loose. Most of the time, this is going to happen when a person has a problem below their gum line that cannot be easily seen.
